What is nystatin and triamcinolone?
The combination of nystatin and triamcinolone is a topical steroid used to treat fungal skin infections. It relieves itching, inflammation, and pain. Nystatin with triamcinolone comes in an ointment and a cream form.
How do I take nystatin and triamcinolone?
Nystatin with triamcinolone is meant for topical use only and is usually is applied to the affected area twice a day for no longer than 2 weeks. Use nystatin and triamcinolone exactly as directed by your prescribing doctor. Before application wash the affected area thoroughly and then apply a small amount of cream or ointment and gently and thoroughly massage it into your skin. Keep nystatin/triamcinolone away from your eyes.

Serious side effects that require contacting your doctor immediately include: blurred vision, or seeing halos around lights, uneven heartbeats, mood changes, trouble sleeping, weight gain, puffiness in your face, fatigue, or signs of an allergic reaction like hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Less serious side effects that should still be mentioned to your doctor include: stinging, burning, itching, dryness, and irritation of the skin, acne, or skin discoloration.
What if I forget to take a dose of nystatin and triamcinolone?
If you miss a dose of nystatin/triamcinolone, apply it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply a double dose to make up for a missed one.
How do I store nystatin and triamcinolone?
Nystatin with triamcinolone should be stored at room temperature, away from children, in the container it came in. Do not freeze this medication. Discard any unused or expired medication.
