Corvite Fe Information:
What is Corvite FE?
Corvite FE is a multivitamin and mineral supplement prescribed to help maintain proper nutritional levels in those with, or at risk for, an iron or nutrition deficiency. It is often prescribed as a prenatal supplement. The tablet contains a specific combination of folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin b, and iron.
How do I take Corvite FE?
Corvite FE is dispensed as a tablet that is usually taken once a day with water and without regard to food. The exact amount administered and the frequency of dosing will depend on the patient’s medical profile and the recommendations of the physician. Do not take more or less than the prescribed amount.
Before taking Corvite FE, tell your doctor if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients in the Corvite FE tablet
- You are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are nursing a child
- You are taking any medications, vitamins, or supplements, including iron or folic acid
- You have, or have had, multiple transfusions, bleeding problems, or blood disorders
- You have pernicious or other forms of anemia
- You have a thyroid condition
- You have hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis
- You have Crohn’s disease or other stomach or bowel problems
- You have problems with your metabolism
- You are undergoing dialysis
What are the possible side effects of taking Corvite FE?
Some temporary side effects have been reported by those taking Corvite FE, including nausea, diarrhea, constipation, darkened stools, abdominal pain, and vomiting. Should any of these symptoms appear and persist or worsen, or you have concerns, contact your healthcare provider. If you experience signs of an allergic reaction (hives, rash, itching, wheezing, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or swelling of the face, mouth, lips, throat, or tongue) seek medical attention immediately.
What if I forget to take a dose of Corvite FE?
If you forget to take your Corvite FE tablet as scheduled, take it as soon as you remember and are able, unless it is almost time for the next dose, in which case you should skip the missed dose and return to the original schedule. Do not increase the number of tablets taken or change the schedule to make up for the missed dose.
How do I store Corvite FE?
Keep Corvite FE tablets tightly sealed in their original packaging, out of the reach of children and away from heat, moisture, and light. Consult your pharmacist for the proper method for disposing of any unused or expired tablets.
What happens if I overdose on Corvite FE?
If an overdose of Corvite FE is suspected, contact the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. If the individual has stopped breathing or lost consciousness, contact Emergency Services at 911. Signs of an overdose include abdominal pain, coma, cyanosis, dehydration, diarrhea, drowsiness, hematemesis, hyperglycemia, hypotension, lassitude, metabolic acidosis, nausea, change in skin color, seizures, shock, tachycardia, black or tarry stools, and vomiting.
