Ecoza Information:

What is Ecoza?

Ecoza is the brand name for an antifungal medication called econazole. Econazole works by killing certain types of fungus and is used to treat various types of fungal infections including jock itch, athlete’s foot, ringworm and thrush. However, the Ecoza foam medication is only prescribed for foot infections, especially ringworm.

How do I take Ecoza?

Ecoza is for topical use only. Do not get this medication in your eyes, nose, mouth or try to use it to treat vaginal infections. Always follow your doctor’s dosing instructions. Instructions may vary based on your age and condition. Shake the can well before each use. Ecoza is typically applied 2 to 4 times daily for up to 4 weeks. Always finish the full course of medication prescribed by your doctor and wash your hands after each application.

Before taking Ecoza, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medication.
  • You are taking or using any other prescription or nonprescription medications, especially other antifungal drugs.
  • You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding.

What are the possible side effects of taking Ecoza?

Possible side effects from using Ecoza include burning, itching, irritation, redness, slight rash or stinging at the site of application. If any of these side effects are severe or if you experience any unusual side effects not listed here, tell your doctor at once. If you have an allergic reaction, seek medical attention and have your doctor change your medication.

What if I forget to take a dose of Ecoza?

If you miss an application of Ecoza, apply the missed dose as soon as you remember it. If it’s almost time for your next application, skip the missed dose and continue on your regular routine. Do not apply two consecutive doses of Ecoza to make up for a missed one.

How do I store Ecoza?

Store Ecoza at a room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. The contents of this can are under pressure. Keep this medication out of direct sunlight and away from an open flame or high heat. The can could explode. Also do not puncture the can or allow it to freeze. Keep this medication out of reach of children and pets.

What happens if I overdose on Ecoza?

Overdose on Ecoza is highly unlikely if you follow the proper instructions for use. If you or someone else accidentally ingests Ecoza, call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.
