What is Embeda?

Embeda combines the drugs morphine and naltrexone to help relieve pain in those who require 24-hour pain management; it is not prescribed for use on an as needed basis. Morphine is an opiate analgesic that works by changing the way the brain and CNS respond to pain. Swallow the capsule whole; do not crush, break, chew, or inhale this medication. If you are having difficulty swallowing the capsule, contact your doctor for advice. Do not take other round-the-clock medications while taking Embeda. Because of its potential for addiction, do not take this medication for longer than the prescribed time.
