This medicine is a vitamin used to treat or prevent low levels of vitamin D. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. SWALLOW WHOLE. Do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS TAKING A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE for 1 or more days, there is no cause for concern. If your doctor recommended that you take it, try to remember your dose every day.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of nutritional or electrolyte deficiencies. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine.
NO COMMON SIDE EFFECTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED with the proper use of this medicine. If you notice any unusual effects, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience symptoms of high blood calcium levels (eg, constipation, decreased coordination or muscle tone, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, loss of appetite, metallic taste in your mouth, muscle aches or stiffness, nausea, ringing in the ears, unusual tiredness or weakness, or vomiting). AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
