Ferralet 90 Information:

What is Ferralet 90?

The combination of nutritional supplements in Ferralet 90 includes iron and 3 essential vitamins: vitamin C, vitamin B12, and folic acid. Those with anemia or a poor diet that lacks a variety of healthy foods, or who are in recovery from surgery or are pregnant often lack the necessary amounts of iron and vitamins. Iron helps the body produce red blood cells needed to complete the delivery of nutrition to different parts of the body. Vitamin C aids the body in absorbing iron from the stomach. Vitamin B12 maintains normal blood, cells, and nerves. Folic acid ensures that cells are formed healthy, especially red blood cells. Taking Ferralet 90 provides enough of these vitamins and minerals to perform bodily functions even when they are not readily available through food.

How do I take Ferralet 90?

Take Ferralet 90 once a day around the same time on an empty stomach 1 or 2 hours before a meal. Take it with a full 8-ounce glass of water. Do not lie down immediately following your dosage. Do not crush or chew this medicine as it negates the timed release effect and increases the risk of an overdose.

Before taking Ferralet 90, tell your doctor if:

  • You are sensitive to iron
  • You have metabolic disorders such as hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis
  • You have ulcers or colitis
  • You have a vitamin B12 deficiency
  • You have a problem with alcohol
  • You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
  • You are on anti-seizure drugs
  • You take chloramphenicol or methyldopa

What are the possible side effects of taking Ferralet 90?

You may notice constipation, diarrhea, or upset stomach when beginning use of this medication. These minor side effects are usually temporary and are likely to disappear as your body adjusts. If the effects do not disappear or appear to worsen, contact your doctor immediately. Excess iron may cause your stool to turn black, but it is not harmful. Seek medical attention if you notice an allergic reaction.

What if I forget to take a dose of Ferralet 90?

Take as directed by a doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next dose, skip your missed dose and maintain your schedule. Do not take 2 doses at one time.
