What if I forget to take a dose of hydromorphone HCl?

Hydromorphone hydrochloride is typically taken as needed. If your prescribing doctor suggests taking it regularly, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, If it is close to the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue taking as prescribed. Do not take a double of the dose.

Symptoms of overdose may include the following: slowed or stopped breathing, sleepiness, coma, muscle weakness, clammy skin, narrowing or widening of the pupils, slowed or stopped heartbeat, dizziness, or fainting.
