L-methylfolate, a form of Vitamin B, is a medical food that is used in conjunction with other medications to help in the management of schizophrenia, depression, and conditions related to a folate deficiency, such as hyperhomocysteinemia. L-methylfolate is not an antipsychotic or an antidepressant, but it can complement the effects of those drugs.
How do I take l-methylfolate?
L-methylfolate is administered as a capsule that is taken orally with water. The dosage strength and frequency of dosing will depend on the condition being addressed.
