Octreotide Acetate immediate-release solution is administered via subcutaneous injection by yourself or a healthcare professional, and the long-acting solution is administered via intravenous injection by a healthcare professional. Before using Octreotide Acetate, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to Octreotide Acetate or any other medications
  • You are taking any other medications, vitamins, or herbal or nutritional supplements

What if I forget to use a dose of Octreotide Acetate?

Take your missed dose of Octreotide Acetate as soon as your remember to take it unless it is almost time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dose schedule. Do not take two doses at once.

How do I store Octreotide Acetate?

Store Octreotide Acetate in its original carton in the refrigerator and protect it from light. If you are storing the immediate-release injection for some time, you may keep it in the original carton in the refrigerator, or you may store it at room temperature for up to 14 days. Discard of any outdated medication and throw away any opened, multi-dose vials 14 days after you use the first dose.
