Sometimes referred to simply as pramipexole, pramipexole dihydrochloride is the generic version of Mirapex (either standard release or extended release). It is a non-ergot dopamine agonist, meaning that it improves body tremors, stiffness, motion control, and balance by acting like natural dopamine in the brain. What are the possible side effects of taking pramipexole dihydrochloride?

Some side effects can be severe, and you should call your doctor immediately. These include but are not limited to: hallucinations; dark and cloudy, cola-colored, or bloody urine; increased or frequent urination, loss of bladder control; difficult or painful urination;  unusual body spasms (e.g., twisting, writhing); sleep attacks and irresistible drowsiness; sudden changes in thought (e.g. paranoia  or fearfulness); changes in vision (e.g. double vision); unusual muscle weakness or difficulty swallowing; difficulty remembering things, focusing, or concentrating; chest tightness or unusual difficulty breathing; swelling in various parts of the body (especially in the arms and legs).

What if I forget to take a dose of pramipexole dihydrochloride?
