Briviact Information:
Briviact is an anti-epileptic drug that can help reduce partial-onset seizures. It is often prescribed alongside other epilepsy medications for the best results.
Take Briviact on the schedule determined by your doctor. Swallow each tablet whole with a glass of water. If you’re unable to swallow pills, talk to your doctor about an injectable form of Briviact. Don’t suddenly stop taking this medication, as you may experience an increase in seizures. If you do need to stop taking this drug, your doctor will likely reduce your dose gradually.
Before taking Briviact, tell your doctor if:
- You have any food or drug allergies
- You are taking any other prescription or over-the-counter drugs or supplements
- You have a history of substance abuse or addiction
- You have a history of depression or suicidal thoughts
- You have liver disease
- You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant
The most commonly reported Briviact side effects include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and drowsiness. Call your doctor at once if you experience severe drowsiness, severe lightheadedness, unusual mood or behavior changes, suicidal thoughts, coordination problems, or hallucinations.
Take the forgotten dose once you remember, unless it’s almost time for the next dose. Don’t take two Briviact doses at once, as this may increase your risk of side effects.
Keep Briviact in a tightly-sealed container, out of reach of any children or pets in your home. Store your medication at room temperature, away from bright light and moisture. Don’t store it in the bathroom. Ask your pharmacist how to safely dispose of any expired or unused medication.
Overdosing on the Briviact drug may cause some of the conditions described in the Side Effects section, including dizziness, drowsiness, and coordination problems. If you or someone in your home has overdosed on this drug, go to the nearest emergency room or call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
Because dizziness and drowsiness are possible side effects of Briviact, you should avoid driving and performing other tasks that require clear focus and coordination until you know how the medicine affects you. Some people have reported experiencing suicidal thoughts after taking this drug; contact your doctor right away if you experience any unusual mood changes or thoughts of self-harm.
Briviact is currently only available as a branded drug. If you’re looking for a way to save on this expensive medication, remember to get a free Briviact coupon from HelpRx.
