What is Diflunisal?
Diflunisal is a generic NSAID (non-aspirin nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) that comes in tablet form, and it is used to relieve pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as mild to moderate pain caused by certain other health conditions. Diflunisal is also used to relieve mild to moderate pain from other causes. Diflunisal works by stopping the production of a substance in the body that are linked to inflammation.
How do I use Diflunisal?
Diflunisal tablets are to be taken orally, and this drug is typically prescribed to be taken once every 8 to 12 hours with water, milk, or food. Take care to swallow the tablets whole. Do not crush, chew, or split Diflunisal tablets. Consult with your doctor for information on how to use this drug, and follow your doctor’s instructions carefully for using Diflunisal.
Before using Diflunisal, tell your doctor if:

What if I forget to use a dose of Diflunisal?
Take your missed dose of Diflunisal as soon as your remember to take it, unless it is almost time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dose schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
How do I store Diflunisal?
Store this medication tightly closed when not in use. Store it at room temperature and keep away from excess moisture and heat. Keep this medication out of reach of children and away from pets. Properly dispose of any expired or unnecessary medication.
What happens if I overdose on Diflunisal?
In case of overdose, call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) to find out what to do, or seek immediate medical attention.
