What is Otrexup?
Otrexup is an injectable treatment that is effective at treating adults and children with arthritis. Prescription Otrexup injections are recommended to patients who have been treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NASIDs), but were not able achieve arthritis relief. Otrexup contains the active ingredient methotrexate that works by reducing inflammation in joints and muscles to relieve symptoms like stiffness, swelling, tenderness, weakness, and fatigue. It is Important to take Otrexup as directed to achieve maximum arthritis relief.
How do I take Otrexup?
Patient should only self-infect Otrexup with the guidance of a health care professional. If you are cleared to use Otrexup at home, check the viewing window of the injector to make sure that the liquid has a yellow consistency. Choose an injection site around the abdomen or thigh region. It is important not inject Otrexup in the arms or other regions not listed. Inject Otrexup cleaning the injection site with alcohol and by removing the cap of the injector. Place the needle against the thigh or stomach region, and firmly push the device against the injection site until you hear a click.
