How do I use diflorasone?

With clean hands, apply diflorasone to the affected areas avoiding the lips, eyes, and mouth. This medication is only intended for external use and should never be ingested.

Before using diflorasone, tell your doctor if:

  • You are taking any other medications, vitamins, or supplements
  • You have an active infection
  • You have diabetes
  • You have skin lesions or burns
  • You have skin wasting or thinning
  • You are allergic to diflorasone
  • You are pregnant or plan to become pregnant
  • You are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.

What are the possible side effects of using diflorasone?

You may experience the following side effects after applying diflorasone: changes in vision, slow healing, red skin blisters filled with pus, severe skin burning, skin thinning, or increased redness or scaling of the skin. If you have any side effects that are severe or last a long time, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

What if I forget to use a dose of diflorasone?

If you forget to apply diflorasone, use it as soon as you remember, do not apply more diflorasone than prescribed as this may cause side effects.

How do I store diflorasone?

Store diflorasone in a locked cabinet with a temperature between 68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit. If you no longer need this medication or it has expired, ask your pharmacist how to safely dispose of it.

What happens if I overdose on diflorasone?

You may experience skin swelling or redness if you apply too much diflorasone. Contact your doctor right away if you or someone overdoses on this drug. If you have difficulty breathing, call 911 immediately for medical assistance.
