Edarbyclor Information:
What is Edarbyclor?
Edarbyclor is an antihypertensive medication combining the angiotensin II receptor blocker azilsartan with the diuretic chlorthalidone to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Azilsartan relaxes blood vessels by blocking substances that cause them to tighten; chlorthalidone increases urine flow which lowers blood volume to help lower blood pressure.
How do I take Edarbyclor?
Edarbyclor is a hypertension medication in tablet form, taken orally once a day with water, and with or without food. The initial dosage may be increased after two to four weeks from the 40/12.5mg strength (azilsartan/chlorthalidone) to 40/25mg. Do not take more than 40/25 per day. Always follow the dosing instructions of your doctor or pharmacist.
Before taking Edarbyclor, tell your doctor if:
- You are allergic to azilsartan, chlorthalidone, or any of the ingredients in the Edarbyclor tablet
- You are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are nursing a child
- You are taking any prescription or non-prescription medications, vitamins, or supplements
- You are taking anti-inflammatory medications, cholestyramine, corticosteroids, lithium, probenecid, colestipol, or potassium inhibitors
