Melatonin Information:
Melatonin has been used for sleep disorders such as insomnia and jet lag. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the particular brand you use.
Dosing for this product depends on the use and the source of the product. Use as directed on the package, unless instructed differently by your doctor. Melatonin is usually taken 2 hours before bedtime for insomnia but results may be seen within 30 minutes. STORE THIS PRODUCT at room temperature away from heat, moisture, and light unless otherwise directed on the package.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with melatonin. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription, over-the-counter medicine, and herbal products that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE MELATONIN if you are also taking immunosuppressants or corticosteroids. IF YOU ARE ALSO TAKING drugs causing drowsiness, such as medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs, narcotic pain relievers, medicine for emotional or mood conditions, anti-seizure drugs, muscle relaxants, antihistamines; or herbs that cause drowsiness, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking melatonin. USE OF MELATONIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of immune system disorders, kidney disease, depression, seizure disorders, or diabetes. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist to answer any questions about melatonin. Melatonin is not recommended for use in children (under 20 years old).
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking melatonin include change in sleep pattern, headache, or itching. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR if you experience confusion, hypothermia, or fast heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur.
