What is Pandel?
Pandel is a topical corticosteroid. As a medium-strength steroid, it helps reduce the inflammation associated with certain skin conditions, including skin allergies, eczema, and psoriasis. This may also relieve related symptoms, such as itching and redness.
How do I use Pandel?
Apply Pandel in a thin layer to the affected skin, once or twice a day (as directed by your doctor). Do not bandage or otherwise cover the treated skin unless your doctor has told you to do so. Always wash your hands before and after each application.
Before using Pandel, tell your doctor if:
- You are allergic to hydrocortisone or have any other allergies
- You are using any other prescription or non-prescription medications or skin products
- You have any skin infections or sores
- You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant
What are the possible side effects of using Pandel?
Pandel may cause certain mild side effects, including itching, redness, acne, new body hair growth, changes in skin color, or dry skin. Keep an eye on all mild side effects and let your doctor know if any get worse. Stop using Pandel and see your doctor as soon as possible if you experience an irregular heartbeat, insomnia, sudden weight gain or loss, swollen feet or ankles, unusual fatigue, or unusual vision changes.
What if I forget to use a dose of Pandel?
Apply the missed dose once you remember. If it’s almost time for your next scheduled dose, simply skip the missed one. Do not use more of this topical cream than you normally would in an effort to catch up.
How do I store Pandel?
Store Pandel at room temperature, away from humidity and bright light. Do not store it in the bathroom or anywhere that children could easily reach. If you no longer need this medication or it has expired, talk to your pharmacist to determine how to safely dispose of it.
What happens if I overdose on Pandel?
You are not likely to overdose Pandel when applying it to your skin as directed. However, you should call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 if anyone in your home has swallowed some of this medication, as accidental ingestion may be hazardous.
Warnings
Keep Pandel away from your eyes, nostrils, mouth, vagina, and rectum. If you accidentally get it in any of these areas, rinse with water immediately. Do not apply this medication to any sunburned, broken, or otherwise irritated skin. Avoid using harsh shampoos, soaps, facial astringents, and other topical products that might irritate your skin.
