This medicine is sometimes used at home as an injection. Before using this medicine, a healthcare professional will provide detailed instructions for the appropriate use of this medicine. Ask any questions that you may have about this medicine or giving injections. STORE THIS MEDICINE as directed on the prescription label. TO CLEAR UP YOUR INFECTION COMPLETELY, continue using this medicine for the full course of treatment even if you feel better in a few days. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking aminoglycosides (eg, tobramycin) or methotrexate. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor and pharmacist of any other medical conditions including kidney problems, colitis or other inflammation of the bowel, hearing problems, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking this medicine.
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment include mild diarrhea, nausea, fever, or chills. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience pain, swelling, or irritation at the injection site; flushing; rash on the face, neck, chest or upper body; wheezing; shortness of breath; decrease in the frequency of urination or decrease in the amount of urine; or ringing in the ears or sudden loss of hearing. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience severe diarrhea, bloody stools, or severe stomach pain or cramping. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS PRODUCT, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Dispose of properly after use. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to explain local regulations for selecting an appropriate container and properly disposing of the container when it is full.
