What is Estropipate?
Estropipate comes in tablet form to be taken orally as prescribed by your doctor in strengths of 0.75 mg, 1.5 mg, and 3 mg. This drug is used to treat certain symptoms of menopause. Symptoms of menopause this drug is used to including hot flashes and vaginal dryness, burning, or itching. Estropipate is also used as a treatment for estrogen replacement for certain conditions in which the body is not producing enough estrogen on its own. In addition, this drug is used to prevent osteoporosis in women who have experienced menopause.
Estropipate is classified as a female hormone, and it works by replacing estrogens in the body when the body is not producing enough estrogen.
How do I use Estropipate?
The recommended dose of Estropipate for adults for the prevention of osteoporosis is usually 0.625 mg once daily, and 0.625 mg to 5 mg once daily for the treatment of symptoms of menopause. Consult with your doctor for specific dosage and use information for this drug for the treatment of your condition.
Before using Estropipate, tell your doctor if:
- You are allergic to Estropipate or to any other medications
- You are taking any other medications, vitamins, or herbal or nutritional supplements
