What is Fenoglide?

Fenoglide is a fibrate cholesterol drug. It is prescribed to treat high LDL cholesterol, high Apo B, high triglycerides and high overall cholesterol levels. Fibrates work by enhancing the body’s natural process of eliminating LDL particles and triglycerides. It also increases HDL or “good” cholesterol levels.

How do I take Fenoglide?

The dose size of Fenoglide varies by person. Your doctor will prescribe the right amount to help you achieve healthy cholesterol levels. This drug is normally taken with food. Your doctor may adjust your dose over time. Always follow your doctor’s dosing instructions.

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have kidney or liver disease.
  • You have gallbladder disease.
  • You have diabetes or an underactive thyroid.
  • You regularly drink alcohol.
  • You are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medications, vitamins or supplements, including other cholesterol drugs, beta blockers, blood thinners, diuretics, hormonal contraceptives, hormonal therapies and any others.
  • You are allergic to any of the ingredients in Fenoglide pills.

What are the possible side effects of taking Fenoglide?

Possible side effects from taking Fenoglide include mild stomach or back pain, runny nose, stuffy nose and headache. If any of these side effects are persistent or severe, tell your doctor right away. Some side effects can be serious. Contact a health professional immediately if you experience pain or swelling in one of your legs, chest pain, severe pain in your upper stomach that spreads to your back along with nausea and vomiting, sudden cough, rapid breathing, elevated heart rate unexplained and persistent muscle pain, fever and jaundice.

What if I forget to take a dose of Fenoglide?

If you forget to take a dose of Fenoglide, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it’s already almost time for your next dose, skip the forgotten dose and continue on your normal regimen. Never take a double dose to compensate for a missed one.
