The active ingredients in naratriptan work by stimulating brain receptors of serotonin, which eases the pain and sensitivity to light and sound associated with migraines.
How do I take naratriptan?
Take one naratriptan tablet with water at the first sign of a migraine headache with or without food. It is important that patients not exceed more than two Naratriptan tablets in a 24-hour period.
Before taking naratriptan, tell your doctor if:
- You have a history of heart attack
- You have high blood pressure
- You have kidney problems
- You are pregnant or plan to become pregnant,
- You are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.
- You are taking any other medications or supplements
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients in naratriptan pills.
What are the possible side effects of taking naratriptan?
Some of the most common side effects patients on naratriptan experience include: fatigue, upset stomach, nausea, dizziness, and feeling unusually hot or cold. Some side effects can be serious. Contact immediate medical help if you experience tightness or pain in chest, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing or swallowing and bloody diarrhea.
What if I forget to take a dose of naratriptan?
This medication is taken as needed, not exceeding 2 pills in a 24-hour period.
How do I store naratriptan?
Store naratriptan tablets in a room with a temperature between 68°F and 77°F, away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep naratriptan out of reach of children.

Warnings
Patients with a history of cardiovascular disease should be monitored while using naratriptan as it may increase blood pressure. Patients with a history of heart attack or stroke should not use naratriptan.
