Rezira Information:

What is Rezira?

The Rezira drug contains two active ingredients: hydrocodone (an opioid) and pseudoephedrine (a cough suppressant). Hydrocodone acts as a decongestant by reducing swelling in the nasal passages, and pseudoephedrine helps decrease coughing by acting on the brain to suppress the cough reflex. It may be used for the short-term treatment of coughing and congestion caused by the common cold, flu, or hay fever.

How do I take Rezira?

Take Rezira exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Use the measuring device that comes with the medication, and talk to your pharmacist if you have questions about how to measure each dose. You may take this medication with or without food.

Before taking Rezira, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to this or any other medications
  • You are taking any other prescription or non-prescription drugs or supplements, especially sodium oxybate
  • You have taken furazolidone or an MAO inhibitor in the past two weeks
  • You have high blood pressure, a blood vessel problem, or any heart problems
  • You have adrenal gland problems or hyperthyroidism
  • You have diabetes
  • You have glaucoma
  • You have had a stroke
  • You have or have had any kind of head trauma, a brain tumor, or an infection of the brain or central nervous system
  • You have any breathing problems, such as asthma
  • You have an enlarged prostate
  • You have stomach, bowel, or gallbladder problems
  • You have recently had abdominal surgery
  • You have a personal or family history of substance abuse or mental illness
  • You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant

What are the possible side effects of taking Rezira?

Rezira may cause difficulty sleeping, dizziness, drowsiness, anxiousness, headache, nausea, or weakness. If you have any side effects that last a long time or become bothersome, tell your doctor. Get emergency medical attention if you experience any rare but serious side effects, including severe dizziness or drowsiness, an irregular heart rate, difficulty urinating, tremors, hallucinations, or seizures.

What if I forget to take a dose of Rezira?

Take the forgotten dose once you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. In this case, skip the missed dose and get back to your normal dosing schedule. Do not double your dose to catch up.

How do I store Rezira?

Store Rezira at room temperature, away from moisture and bright light. Keep the bottle tightly sealed and out of reach of children and pets. If you no longer need this medication or it has expired, ask your pharmacist how to safely dispose of it.

What happens if I overdose on Rezira?

Overdosing on the Rezira drug can be very dangerous and may lead to blurred vision, hallucinations, severe dizziness or drowsiness, an irregular heart rate, vomiting, or seizures. If you or someone in your household has overdosed, seek emergency medical attention.

Warnings

Because Rezira can cause dizziness and drowsiness, you should avoid driving and performing other tasks that require alertness until you know you can do so safely. You should also limit alcohol consumption, since alcohol may exacerbate these side effects. Review your medical history and ask your doctor for a complete list of medications that may interact with Rezira before you start taking this drug.

Brand Names

Rezira is a brand name combination drug. It doesn’t currently have a generic equivalent, which is part of the reason for its high cost. If you’re looking for a way to reduce the Rezira retail price, remember to claim a free coupon from our site.
