Rythmol Sr Information:

What is Rythmol SR?

Rhytmol SR is the drug propafenone, a Group IC anti-arrhythmic medication, dispensed as an extended-release capsule; it is used in the treatment of an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) in order to help maintain a normal heartbeat. It acts on the heart muscle to stabilize its rhythm.

How do I take Rythmol SR?

Rythmol SR is administered in capsule form and taken orally twice a day with water and without regard to food. Do not crush, chew, open, split, divide, or inhale the capsule or its contents. The amount taken and frequency of dosing will be determined by your doctor after an evaluation of your medical profile. Rythmol Sr controls but does not cure an irregular heartbeat; continue taking this medication even if you feel well. Do not stop taking this drug without your doctor’s permission.

  • You have, or have had asthma or any condition that causes narrowing of the airways

Some people have reported side effects after taking Rythmol Sr. Less severe symptoms include anxiety, vision problems, constipation, diarrhea, sleep difficulties, impaired or lost coordination, dizziness, dry mouth, gas, headache, appetite loss, nausea, fatigue, bodily tremors, unusual taste in the mouth, and vomiting. If any of these conditions persist or worsen, contact your healthcare provider.

Do not increase the dosage or alter the schedule to compensate for one that was missed.
