How do I take zolpidem ER?

Take one zolpidem ER tablet right before bed on an empty stomach. Do not combine zolpidem ER with alcohol or other drugs as this may affect how the medication works.

 

Before taking zolpidem ER, tell your doctor if:

  • You have depression
  • You have a history of drug or alcohol abuse
  • You have kidney or liver disease
  • You have lung or breathing problems
  • You are pregnant or plan to become pregnant 

What are the possible side effects of taking zolpidem ER?

Side effects experienced by some patients taking zolpidem ER include headaches, sleepiness, dizziness, or drowsiness the following day. Very rarely, zolpidem ER may cause nausea, flushing, lightheadedness, vomiting, stomach cramps, and panic attacks Contact your doctor if any of these side effects bother you or become worse over time. 

What if I forget to take a dose of zolpidem ER?

If you miss a dose, skip it. You should only take zolpidem ER right before bed as needed. Do not take zolpidem ER during the day as this may cause you to fall asleep during work or other activities. 

How do I store zolpidem ER?

Store your zolpidem ER medication in a cabinet in a room with a temperature of around 59 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep your medications out of reach of small children and away from extreme heat and cold.

What happens if I overdose on zolpidem ER?

You may experience fatigue and sleepiness after an overdose on zolpidem ER. Call 911 or your doctor right away if you or someone in your home overdoses on this medication.

Warnings
