Dicloxacillin Information:
Dicloxacillin is an antibiotic that comes in capsule and liquid form and it works by fighting bacteria that causes many different types of infections.
Dicloxacillin comes in both capsule form and as a liquid. Dicloxacillin is taken orally, typically once, four times per day. Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor.
If you are taking dicloxacillin liquid, shake it well before each use.
If you are taking dicloxacillin capsules, they should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water.
Take dicloxacillin at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
Before using Dicloxacillin, tell your doctor if:

you are allergic to dicloxacillin, penicillin, or any other drugs

you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medications

you are taking any other antibiotics

you are taking anticoagulants ('blood thinners'), aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine such as naproxen or ibuprofen

you are taking oral contraceptives

you are taking probenecid (Benemid)

you are taking vitamins

you have or have ever had kidney or liver disease

you have allergies, asthma, or hay fever

you have blood disease, colitis, or stomach problems

you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
If you are having surgery of any kind, let your doctor know you are taking this medication.
Contact your doctor if you experience these symptoms and if they do not go away: upset stomach, diarrhea, vomiting, or mild skin rash.
Contact your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention if you experience any of these symptoms: severe skin rash, itching, or hives; vaginal infection; difficulty swallowing or breathing.
Take your missed dose of dicloxacillin as soon as your remember to take it. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue to take the medication as prescribed. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose of dicloxacillin.
Store dicloxacillin in a tightly closed container at room temperature. Keep away from excess moisture or heat. Keep out of reach of children. Properly dispose of any expired or unnecessary medication.
In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention.
