Isosorbide Mononitrate Er Information:
Isosorbide Mononitrate ER (Extended Release) is a generic, nitrate drug and it is an extended-release tablet that is used to prevent angina attacks (chest pain). This drug works by widening blood vessels, which makes it easier for blood to flow through the blood vessels, and it also makes it easier for the heart to pump.
Isosorbide Mononitrate ER tablets should be taken orally exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Swallow the Isosorbide Mononitrate ER whole.
Before using Isosorbide Mononitrate ER, tell your doctor if:

you are allergic to Isosorbide Mononitrate ER or any other medications

you are taking medicine to treat erectile dysfunction or pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)

Take your missed dose of Isosorbide Mononitrate ER as soon as your remember to take it, unless it is almost time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dose schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Store this medication tightly closed when not in use. Store it at room temperature and keep away from excess moisture and heat. Keep this medication out of reach of children and away from pets. Properly dispose of any expired or unnecessary medication.
In case of overdose, call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) to find out what to do, or seek immediate medical attention.
Warnings

Do not use isosorbide mononitrate if you are taking medicine to treat erectile dysfunction or pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), as serious, life-threatening side effects may occur.

Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as doing so could result in a severe angina attack.

Do not take this drug if you have early signs of a heart attack including: chest pain, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating
- Do not let anyone else use your medication.

This drug can cause severe headaches when you first start taking it. The headaches typically become less severe as you continue to take the medication. Tell your doctor if you have headaches and they continue or worsen after you have been using this medication for several weeks
